HOW TO GET YOUR YELLOW PASSBOOK TO COMPETE AS A MASTER BOXER
To compete as a master boxer you must be 35 years of age or older, never competed as a pro in any combat sport, and you must be registered with USA Boxing and be up to date with your Yellow Masters Passbook as well as your yearly physical (Those ages 45 and older must also pass an exercise EKG also known as a stress test and is good for 5 years).
Your first step is to download the masters medical form from the link below. This is the form you will have your doctor fill out and clear you as fit to box in order to be eligible to compete. Once you have your medical form done and cleared as fit to box, the next step is register with USA Boxing as Master Boxer.
Click on the Register With USA Boxing link below, if you are a former member and need to renew, click the log-in and on the sidebar click on the renew membership button. For those that are new and none members, you want to click on the Join USA Boxing button. Take your time and follow the instructions, when you get to what type of membership are you signing up for make sure you select athlete and master boxer. Complete your registration, complete your safesport training. At the end of your registration it will let you know who you need to send the following to…. A copy of your birth certificate or travel passport, 2 passport size photos of you, a copy of your passed physical. It normally takes 2 to 3 weeks for your LBC to send you your passbook. Once your membership with USA Boxing is active, you also want to upload your birth certificate or passport and the second page of your physical form that clears you as fit to box. and your profile picture. Once this is complete and you have your yellow passbook, you are official and ready to compete as a master boxer.
A couple of things you should know.
Your physical is good for an entire calendar year. For example, if you got your physical on April 10th 2024. Your physical is good until April 10th 2025. Be aware that you will not be allowed to box with an expired physical.
Your USA Boxing membership is good for that year only so for example, You registered for USA Boxing on September 10th 2024, your membership will expire and you will need to renew on December 31st 2024.
Early registration for your USA Boxing membership next year starts November 1st.
